Dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut.
Day 3: Mandara Hut (2,700 m) – Horombo Hut (3,700 m)
Begin the day with a hearty breakfast before trekking through the heather and moor zone, where the landscape shifts to shrubs and grasses. After 5 to 6 hours of steady ascent, you’ll reach Horombo Hut, offering spectacular views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Spend the evening enjoying a warm meal and soaking in the scenery before resting for the night.
Day 4: Horombo Hut (3,700 m) – Zebra Rocks (4,020 m) – Horombo Hut (3,700 m)

The landscape is stark but mesmerizing, with expansive views of the alpine desert. After 5 to 6 hours, you’ll arrive at Kibo Hut, where you’ll rest and prepare for your summit attempt. Dinner is served early, and lights-out follows as you’ll be awakened before midnight for the climb to Uhuru Peak.
Day 6: Kibo Hut (4,700 m) – Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) – Horombo Hut (3,700 m)
Your summit push begins around midnight, with headlamps lighting the way. The frozen terrain makes the steep ascent easier to navigate. After passing Hans Meyer Cave (5,220 m), you’ll reach Gilman’s Point (5,681 m) on the crater rim. From here, a final 1- to 2-hour trek will take you to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
